ExxonMobil has developed Mobilgard™ 540 AC, a premium 40BN marine cylinder oil granted Class II standing by MAN ES to be used of their Mark 9 and better 2-stroke marine engine designs. The premium lubricant, which has been formulated to ship superior cleanliness to satisfy the wants of those newer engines, has acquired a No Objection Letter from the engine builder following intensive discipline demonstrations.

“Mobilgard™ 540 AC is likely one of the first 40BN lubricants to be granted Class II standing,” mentioned Yannis Chatzakis, International Marine Know-how Program Supervisor at ExxonMobil. “As the most recent addition to the MobilGard household of cylinder oils, it builds on the model’s intensive heritage of innovation, efficiency and reliability, serving to present peace of thoughts to vessel operators in all kinds of working situations.”

ExxonMobil’s balanced formulation methodology ensures that Mobilgard™ 540 AC helps vessel operators wishing to simplify lubricant administration by use of a single, low BN Class II cylinder oil. Operators can achieve additional confidence within the stage of their engine’s reliability by implementation of an onboard scrape down oil evaluation programme, resembling Mobil ServSM Cylinder Situation Monitoring.

The high-performance cylinder oil might be out there to order from the third quarter of 2022 in key places from ExxonMobil’s intensive community of greater than 650 ports all through the world.
