For the second year in a row, SAAM Towage Brazil has received the Gold Seal rating, the highest in the GHG Protocol Program managed by the Sustainability Center of Fundação Getúlio Vargas -FGV. This international tool is used by companies to quantify and manage scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

“We have strengthened our environmental management, in the quest to deliver better service to foreign trade, and this seal reaffirms that we are on the right path to have increasingly efficient operations,” said SAAM Towage’s country manager in Brazil, Renata Ervilha.

The Gold Seal rating is awarded to complete GHG inventories that register all scope 1 and 2 emissions. The methodology and data must also be externally verified within a company certified by the Brazilian National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Instituto Nacional de MetrologĂa, Calidad y TecnologĂa or INMETRO).

This recognition is in addition to the great milestone reached this year when the company became the first towage company in the country to achieve carbon neutrality with 100% of greenhouse gas emissions of 2022 neutralized.
