Suez Canal sees record monthly revenue in April on higher traffic

Egypt’s Suez Canal recorded its greatest month-to-month income up to now in April, enjoying $629 million in ship transportation costs, the expert handling the waterway stated on Sunday, as traffic rebounded through the influence of this pandemic.

The month-to-month income in April had been 13.6% more than last year, channel expert president Osama Rabie stated in a statement.

The final number of boats that passed through the 193 kilometer (120 kilometers) waterway that connects the Red plus the Mediterranean seas increased by 6.3per cent from last year to 1,929 vessels.
