MSC Adds Another New Service to The Port of Philadelphia with the Indus 2

On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, PhilaPort welcomed the maiden telephone call of a unique sea lining solution towards the Port of Philadelphia’s Packer Avenue aquatic Terminal. The 6,730-TEU container vessel MSC Michaela is a component for the Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) “Indus 2” service.

This solution provides Philadelphia shippers direct connections to Asia, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

“Shippers desire better choices and also this brand new India/Med solution suits completely into our wheelhouse,” said Jeff Theobald, Executive Director and CEO of PhilaPort

Philadelphia will continue to play a significant part in helping intercontinental offer stores with alternative ways of overcame global logistics challenges.
