Greek bulker owner Diana Shipping has secured employment for two of its ships that should bring in about $16.71m for the minimum scheduled period of their contracts.

The Semiramis Paliou-led company has sealed a time charter deal with Smart Gain Shipping for its 2015-built capesize Santa Barbara until October 10, 2024, with options until December 10 the same year. The charter of the 179,426 dwt ship has already started at $21,250 per day.

Meanwhile, the 2013-built 87,146 dwt post-panamax Phaidra has been fixed to Aquavita International at $12,250 per day. The charter starts on May 9 and will see the vessel employed through to between September 1, 2024, and November 15, 2024.

The New York-listed company has a fleet of 42 bulkers, including 11 capes and five post-panamaxes.
