The funeral of one of the most famous names in bunkering takes place this morning in Genoa.
Captain Antonio Cosulich, the former chairman of the Fratelli Cosulich Group, passed away last week aged 84.
He joined the Italian group in the late 1960s. At the time, the group solely served as an agency, catering, and manning provider for shipowners. The family-run company traces its origins to 1857 when Captain Antonio Cosulich built the 500 dwt ship Fides. Under Cosulich’s leadership, the company entered the bunkering business.
Cosulich’s brother, Andrea, serves now as the group’s honorary chairman, with his daughter Marta running the company as CEO.
